Festival - Films/Awards
In The Bin Touring Program is considered the best in Australia and it is easy to see why, in 2010 alone we have films nominated for Academy Awards, Award winners from esteemed festival like Sundance and MIFF, and classic low to no budget productions offering clever and entertaining slants on life.
Our touring program is forever growing, offering regional communities the opportunity to experience a source of cinema usually only available in capital cities. In The Bin is strongly focused on supporting short film production and the industry in general, so much so that every time a short is shown as part of In The Bin Touring Festival we pay them screening fee’s. Ever since the tour was conceived back in 2003 this was our goal, and originally we were the only festival doing it, now other festivals are following suit and this will only add to the quality of professional short films so we are excited about that.

Additional to the touring festival In The Bin holds a competition component offering cash prizes for the major awards. Each year over 600 films are entered into the festival, which proves to be a major process in the selection stage. The outcome is a vast collection of high quality films unlike any other festival.
IN THE BIN 2009
In The Bin was a huge success this year with record attendance and I believe the best selection of short films to date. The judges had a massive time trying to select the winners with so much to choose from. The final outcome was great with “Miracle Fish” Taking out top honors, when screening to the 3,000 strong audience at Currumbin you could hear a penny drop as all were captivated.
