We are set for one heck of a tour in 2010, and what a great way to start it, big congrats to Luke Doolan, Drew Bailey and the rest of the crew for their Academy Award nomination of “Miracle Fish”, winner of Best Film at In The Bin in 2009!!! If you haven’t seen it you can check it out as part of our 2010 tour along with some other great films. The Sundance Award Winning Film “El Ataque Los Robots de Nebulosa-5 – Attack of the Robots from Nebula-5”, The Melbourne International Film Festival Hit “Two Men” and the Queensland New Film makers awarded underdog “Broken Road”. This is just a tast of the films that are touring with over 20 films hitting the road there will be a variety to suit any communities needs.
As usual In The Bin programs the very best in the world of short film, mixing high end short films with smart amateur shorts. This is reflective of our past years of screenings where many films have gone on to be nominated and awarded Academy Awards including the likes of “Harvey Krumpet” and “Two Cars One Night”.

2009 Wrap-Up

What a year we had last year, it blew in one ear and out the other for us. Over 60 locations experience In The Bin, 54 of them we Education Programs, over 1000 students participated, over 200 short films were produced, and the van traveled over 70,000km. So over all I think it was a success… We had a great finale event in Goulburn this year after three local workshops there we screened 11 short films that were made during the Education Program along with a great mix of family films from In The Bin. From Carnarvon WA to Weipa QLD the response from all communities was great and the program was extremely well received.
Of course one of the favorite films of the tour was “Spider” from Nash Edgerton who has gone on to direct the excellent Australian feature “The Square”. Other enjoyed films in 2009’s tour were “Porque Hay Cosas Que Nunca – Because There are Things We Never Forget”, “Dugong” and the continuing success of Cameron Edser with “Animal Instinct” The entire Touring Program though has been a huge success for 2009 and with our program ready for 2010’s tour re are really excited to see the developments.
2010 Touring Program is now online. Check it out here, there are some great films in store for Australia this year including this year’s Academy Award nominated thriller “Miracle Fish” , The Sundance Award Winning Film “El Ataque Los Robots de Nebulosa-5 – Attack of the Robots from Nebula-5”, The Melbourne International Film Festival Hit “Two Men” and the Queensland New Film makers awarded underdog “Broken Road”. This is just a tast of the films that are touring with over 20 films hitting the road there will be a variety to suit any communities needs.
