We have just dusted ourselves off to conclude the most successful festivals to date. We had the largest number of attendees for our week night festivals ever!!!
We had some amazing developments during the week of the festival with people showing support from everywhere, so a big Thank you!
Firstly In The Bin would like to send a huge THANK YOU to everybody involved with In The Bin Short Film Festival 2008. We would like to send a special thank you to The Currumbin RSL, TBD Designs, Bremner Signs, Bread and Butter, The Elephant Rock Café, The Deck Café, The Beach Shack, The Rocks Resort, The Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, Telstra, Mitch Media, Currumbin Surf Club and Bendigo Bank, all who donated their time, services and products which helped make the festival such a success!
We would also like to send our great appreciation to all the keen In The Bin goers which showed up to watch a night of film!
The program which included 14 short films showcasing the best of drama, comedy and animation, has been the strongest program in the history of In The Bin! We received a great response from Nash Edgerton’s film Spider, which proved to be a favourite!
We also received a great response from the Boardshorts Sports, Music and Documentary Film Night, which was screened at the Currumbin Surf Club, a first for In The Bin! We will definitely continue this in years to come!
The remaining nights of the festival program, including the Monday Family and Cartorts Film Festival & the Friday In The Bin Part 2 program also concluded to be our most successful nights to date!
With the standard of films being so high this year, it was a difficult task to decide the best from the best! However with the help of some of the film industries most recognised people acting as judges, we were able to decide the award winners . Mark Fennel, Triple J’s movie critic, was blown away with the standard of the films being screened at the In The Bin Film festival and found the whole event a great experience!
